Pretty Flowers Learning Activity For Your Little

A very simple and easy activity to do with your little outside is to get them outside picking the beautiful wild flowers that are blooming.

My little and I had so much fun doing this for an hour.

I asked my daughter to help me find certain colored flowers 🌻

Then we took them inside and cut them down. She helped me put them in a little jelly jar .

And vuala we had a beautiful center piece to show daddy when he got home

Hard Work & Family Time

When you mix our kind of work with a little time for your friends and family time you are bound for a little adventure.

These past two weeks have been absolutely packed full and busy. So I am going to just give you the highlights of the Memorial day weekend and week. πŸ™‚

Saturday we got up early, it’s the time of the year we have to start the process of cutting, splitting, hauling, and stacking, wood.

We headed out to the family camp to do exactly that.

With my daughter in one arm I threw wood in the bed if the truck while my husband split it.

It wasn’t to much longer when my father inlaw and our great uncle showed up. They took over for me.

So Casidy and I went on our own adventure.

When it was all said and done, we headed in.

That night we had our friends over for a little cook out. It was a good time as always up until they decided to get funny.

My sister in law and I was in the kitchen talking to the other ladies when her husband calls us.

“Sara, shanna, come look at this! ” he calls.

Well, assuming one of our husbands wad probably doing something hilariously stupid we walked towards my back screen door.

The guys had a Pine snake 🐍 caught in a tub.

I grabbed my daughter and ran back through the house with my sister inlaw behind me. Both of us screaming.

She yells, ” Get in the car! Get in my car! ” no questions asked I got into the passengers side of the car.

With our driveway being so muddy from the rain Sara slides on her ass falling.

She gets in, turns the car on.

Here those pains in our butts come with the snake, Sara puts the car in reverse and there we were ready to go.

I yell out the window “kill it! ”

One yells back “No, we can’t. ”

I yell back “I don’t give a shit kill the damn thing”

Getting the hint the guys finally got into my friends car and took the snake off down the road.

I’m still pissed they didn’t kill it, watch it come right back.

See, when you grow up down south with poisonous snakes like this copperhead that bit my friends son over the weekend-who is thank God alright🐍, you do not make friends. I hate them.

Sunday came along, we ended up fixing a belt on our car and that evening I finally got my garden in.

Monday I spent my time with my family. My parents, nephews, grandfather, and friends came for another cook out.

It was nice, we ate good food like my friends yummy chickpea salad recipe, which I will ask her if I can share with y’all.

Tuesday, I did mor gardening. and something pretty awesome happened

This women right here, ran.

It was freaking hot in the house, so I decided after my workout and a little gardening I was going to put casidy in the stroller and walk to my mother in laws for dinnner.

The walk turned into me running 1/4 of a mile.
Guys, this is huge for me! Why? I havent ran without having an “episode” from my superventricular tachiacaria in years. This is a condition that caused my heart will beat to fast. I usually A. Lose vision or B . Faint while feeling dizzy like and overwhelmingly hot.

It’s been 4 years and today I really think I can get back to 5 miles a day. I have to thank beachbody for teaching me how to eat properly/drink water consistently and all the motivation I have to exercise everyday from my team and being a coach. Not only has it helped that condition, but my RA so much.

Wednesday I went over to my mother in lawd so she could show me how to cook with a preserve ruhbarb.

I got 3 freezerbags and a cake out of it along with an education of how to work with this northern plant.

It is perfect πŸ‘Œ for summer eatin alone, but that cake, boy was it ever a comfort food fit for winter. And as you can see, it is to tasty to wait for a picture.

Get the recipe here.

Well, that is all I have for you today folks.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, be sure yo check out other sections of our website and follow us on social media.

A Day In The Life Of The Redhead & Family, Hunting Stories

Opening Day of Turkey Season 2018

Well, we couldn’t find a babysitter, so we loaded up the truck with little miss in her car seat.

First back road we took road riding…the loggers ruined anything being back there. So we ventured down another road, stopped the truck and called a little.

Nope, nothing.

My husband said, lets go and see if my brother has something in his back yard.

I said alright!

So two hours later we found ourselves at my brother in-laws.

My husband helped tinker with their side-by-side while I sat and chatted with my brother in-law’s Fiance.

“gobble, gobble.” I heard them

I went into the truck and got the caller.

I called…

“gobble,gobble.”

Bart, the dog’s ears popped up, so I knew I wasn’t hearing things.

Called again.

Nothing.

Well, they must have went towards the neighbors. We all thought.

I chatted some more, we looked at a boat they wanted to sell us and their new flooring.

I’ll admit to peeking out the window here and there.

No Turkeys.

After our little visit we headed back homebound, stopped picked the baby up her milk, and then supper.

My husband says, lets check by the potatoe fields.

We had to drop a treat off for his mom anyway, so I said alright! – not that I would dispute it.

We stopped by my mother in-law’s and changed a diaper, the neighbor ,who has a farm down the road from us, happened to be there.

He tells us he saw black smoke coming from in behind our house.

Uh-oh. Jumped in the truck and headed home….to find the other neighbors were just burning their grass

No Turkey for me.

Hopefully before the season is over I can go sit somewhere. But for now, well..parenthood.

The Great Outdoors,Chinese, and Renovations

Saturday was an okay day. Matt and I ventured to town for some supplies and to checkout the newly opened Gander Outdoors.

It is an okay store, I hope they bring in a broader selection. I really enjoy their fishing department. We will probably be heading back for supplies.

Saturday ended with our weekly visit at Matt’s parent’s house with his Aunt and Uncle.

Sunday morning we spent our time working on our basement. I’ll tell you what..painting is NOT my favorite thing to do.

After that, I got myself ready for some girl time with my sister in-law.

We went out for dinner at Pi King, a Chinese restaurant I had never been to. The food was fantastic! I may have ate a little more than I needed to.

Then we went to pick up a few things at our local Walmart and Dollar Tree.

There was a mother in Walmart with her four kids. One of the kids was screaming and crying, she, with an embarrassed look, said ” Sorry. Unhappy baby.”

We both just looked at her smiled and said we have both been in your shoes don’t worry about it.

I tell you what, I think as mothers, when we see another mom in a situation like that, the last thing we should do is judge.

Anywho, after grabbing what we needed we decided to go see how much snow was still around Fummee Lake.

It was so nice.

We ended our day with picking her daughter up, surprising my in-laws with Chinese we got for them, then heading home.

How was your weekend?

5 Miles Of Fresh Air

We woke up this morning with the sun shinning, the sky is blue, and the air clean. So we did what we always do on a gorgeous day. We took advantage of it.

Matt loaded up the truck with snowshoes, the backpack, gun, and vest. I gathered all of Casidy’s things and got her ready. Off we went out to the families camp.

Once we got there I helped casidy get dressed in her snow pants, sunglasses- boy did she think she was the coolest girl around with sunglasses on- and jacket. Matt and I then strapped our snowshoes on. And!… I bet you can guess it…

Yep, we started walking. Shotgun with one of us- you know, just in case we see a bunny rabbit of course – and casidy with the other.

We walked about 2.5 miles out to the cabin, then 2.5 miles back.

🎡Over the swamp and through the woods, to the camp we go.🎡

It goes without fail that I fall, I’m the clutz. It only happened three times though!

Taking turns trading gun and our daughter (who is to little for snowshoes.) We made it to the cabin.

There were plenty of tweety birds and pheasants that were out and about.

As for hunting, we saw quite a bit of rabbit tracks, but no rabbits.

After shoveling ice off the deck, a snack, and a diaper change. We headed back.

Now, we are home. Dinner is in the oven. Matt is moving the living room around and me,lol. I am trying to type this up and in the way. So, he is just picking me up and moving me along with the furniture.

Soon we will head out again for our weekly visit with our Aunt and Uncle at Matts parents place.

Thank God for the gorgeous walk . I love this land. I love my family. It was a perfectly spent day.

So, that’s this redheads families Saturday. How did you spend your St. Patrick’s day?

A Drink With A Little Fire

I enjoy the small things in life. Today was a nice day to do that..

This evening we kept things pretty simple for a Friday. I had one of my occasional drinks with my dinner and then we headed outside and did a little spring cleaning.

My husband gathered up some scrap wood and started a fire in our fire pit. Then helped a friend of ours put a new exhaust on his motorcycle. I cleaned up my box I usually plant my tomatoes in, then took a walk outback to scope out a place where we could maybe put a play area for Casidy.

As I was outside I took a moment and just breathed in the crisp air. My mind became clear, my body relaxed.

And I just observed my surrounding. Little tracks from the squirrels sat in the snow. The trees still and tall. It was nice…

I like days like this when we kick all of that garbage aside. Put our phones away and enjoy the company of our friends..I think maybe things haven’t completely gone to crap.

It seems these days all you hear when you go out is politics. Everything’s become politics. Its worrisome.

I think we all need more time away from everything media and more time visiting..

Gosh what I’d give to have some of the things our parents have. I wish I had random company stop in just to say hello and do a little front porch sitting.
