A Snack Time Solution That Works For Kids & Grown-ups Too

This is just what have done and recently discovered.

The To Go Snacks

I have a designated bin for snacks. All of these snacks are quick grabs for the diaper bag and myself.

In this bin I keep baggies of animal crackers, veggie/fruit straws, nuts, raisins, dried cranberries, trail mix, etc.

I also have pudding cups, granola bars, organic fruit/veggie gummies, freeze dried fruit.

Now, y’all. I am cheap! I buy these things in bulk. Separate the serving sizes, i.e 12 crackers per baggie.

My baggies are colored on purpose this allows me to keep things organized.

Here for example, I have yellow bags filled with apple straws and crackers, blue bags filled with just crackers, and the red bags are just apple straws.

I do separate the nuts for myself into smaller, little snack bags, but I’m out today.

The baggies I use are the cheapest of the cheap on the shelf. One day, I’ll get even cheaper about it and buy reusable ones.

The snacks, like I said are in bulk, on sale, or cheap..but also I am weird about certain ingredients, so I always check out what’s in the food before I buy.

The gummies I buy for my daughter are found at dollar general, the freeze dried fruit is at dollar tree (there is more in the package than Wal-Mart’s brand)

Snacks At Home

I recently discovered this trick and it works SO well with my two year old and my mommy brain.

She gets…her own snack drawer in the fridge! …that she has to share with mommy and daddy.

So, I haven’t found containers yet to organize this a little better, but I took my fruit drawer and added a few things.

In mason jars I have string cheese, the bowl has boiled eggs, then we have apples and grapes.

The grapes I haven’t gotten around to slicing up and putting into baggies..

Right above that drawer I have yogurts.

Also, the door bottom shelf I have her drinks of water.

I need to experiment a little with this and find what will fit in that drawer, but I plan on adding other choices, such as half pb&j,cottage cheese, berries.

My two year old can open the fridge get what she wants and is good to go.

She isn’t allowed in there except after she has eaten her meals and not before.

It took a day to set the boundaries, but after a few “no dont do that” she got it.

Since these are filling nutritious , she so far, goes in once after breakfast and once after lunch. That’s it.

It’s helping teach her independence and boundaries, and helping me skip the 3 minutes of “what can I give her for snack” and it has been awesome for those days I don’t have a minute for lunch to just grab a boiled egg and cheeese.

Pretty Flowers Learning Activity For Your Little

A very simple and easy activity to do with your little outside is to get them outside picking the beautiful wild flowers that are blooming.

My little and I had so much fun doing this for an hour.

I asked my daughter to help me find certain colored flowers 🌻

Then we took them inside and cut them down. She helped me put them in a little jelly jar .

And vuala we had a beautiful center piece to show daddy when he got home

JUST LIFE,A HAPPY LIFE

The last few days have been crazy, warm weather is here to stay I believe
My sister came to stay with us last Friday. She came over this way for her son’s tonsillectomy. It was so nice to have her around. Her, my little sister, and I had not been together in 10 years. It was nice to be around the two of them again.
The weekend came in with my sister at my side. My husband and I of course drug her down the back road riding and looking for a Turkey. We didn’t see anything, just the female that has been hanging around the highway for some time now.
It really sucks living in an area that doesn’t really have the best Turkey population….

Well Monday rolled around and I had to say my goodbyes to my sister. She left and had my interview with Tinkergarden , this company I found has a goal of getting children outside again, well that went excellent. I am not in the last phase of the interviewing process, I really hope it all works out.

Tuesday Casidy – my little girl- and I went over to my Mother – in-laws house. We started our visit woth finger paint and build bird houses with my niece. Neither one of them had much experience with finger paint, so it was a sight to see.

W

hile the paint was drying on the piece of bird house the girls decided they wanted Grammy to catch chickens to pet. They had a ball.

When we headed home I had to kick myself in the butt. We launched a cool new program called 2B Mindset. I had to get it out and let people know about it. I am SO excited about this program and it is really important to me to let all I encounter know about it. It is a weight loss program that includes NO exercise. This means I can help MORE people. So I went LIVE on facebook and explained.

Wednesday was a run to town day. I had to get a package out to Fedex, and I had to get wipes. The day kind of turned into a girls day with my little. She was spoiled. I got her dump truck, McDonald’s for lunch, and she had a wolf in her happy meal.

I also found myself a really cool clock that was on sale.

Thursday I chilled at home and focused on getting some laundry done. Later that evening I helped out at our local schools Track event. They had me judging the pole jumps, and though that wasn’t my event in track, it made me miss my teenage years badly. I am at the weird age where teens think I am old and other adults older than me still talk down to me or brush things off like I am a teen. I watched a teen go by walking all cool because they had keys, not I wish I could feel that again. I suppose we all go through this phase in our lives though.

It’s Friday now, and my weekend plans had to be cancelled so I have no idea what this weekend will bring, maybe a little hunting or a trip out to deer camp? gathering wood? We shall see…
Have a beautiful weekend y’all.
