Crock Pot Venison Stew Perfect For A Chilly Day

It’s a little chilli today, feels a bit like fall 🍁🍂

We all woke up with a cold too, so I thought some warm venison stew,

sounded perfect for our bellies tonight for supper.

You will need:

2 pounds venison cubed up like for stew obviously (use beef or bison if you don’t have venison)
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp pepper
1 medium onion, chopped chunky

1 TBS of dried garlic, minced garlic..
32oz of broth, one part beef the other vegtable
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 cups carrots cut julian or frozen
4-6 golden potatoes,cut into chunks pieces

1 cup frozen corn
2 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 bay leaf
11/2 tsp of tumeric

Combine in the crock

Mix
1/4 cup flour or two TBS of corn starch
1/4 cup of cold water

or milk and set aside seprate

Set on high for 6 hours, the last 30 min add in the flour

Two Meals 4 Chicken Breast

Need to meal prep for the weekend?

All you need is a few ingredients.

4 chicken breast 🐔

4 bell peppers

3 banana peppers

4 tomatoes 🍅

1 onion

Diced butternut squash

Salt

Pepper

Garlic

Parmesan

Italian seasoning

Ababo seasoning

Oranges 🍊

Redwine Vinager

Olive oil

Cole slaw

Cranberries

Meal 1:

I sliced 2 of each veggie , drizzled them with red wine vinegar, salt, black pepper, and garlic.

Baked them in the oven for 20 min at 350°F on the top wraxk of your oven

Under the veggies I also baked the chicken for 30 minutes.

I sliced two chicken breast into strips, sprinkled them with Mrs. Dash original seasoning and drizzled olive oil on them

I surved that with a side of cole slaw which is just chopped up cabbage,carrots,celary, mixed with Cole slaw dressing and topped with dried cranberries.

Meal 2

While meal 1 was cooking I diced up the rest of the veggies and chicken along with one onion

I cooked the chicken first in my cast iron pan with a little olive oil and ababo seasoning.

Then on the day eaten I added in the vegetables with a little bit of Italian seasoning.

*don’t store these already combined and cooked.. Itll be gross

When that was finished I made angel hair pasta.

Get a rabid boil of water and a little milk.

Add pasta until cooked

Drain

Sprinkle with with garlic and Parmesan cheese .

Then top them the veggies and chicken

Surved with diced butternut squash drizzled with honey,oranges,and raspberry-leaf tea to drink.

Storing

Since this was just for two day prep everything went in my Anchor containors individually and in the fridge, then when ate heated up quick in the skillet or oven.

FRUGALLY Healthy On A Budget : Challenge Accepted.

Hey guys,

So time and time again I have heard “I can nor afford to eat healthy. ”

I took that as a challenge and the challenge was excepted! I am going to PROVE you can buy healthy foods and not break the bank.

I went to our most costly grocery store in our area and shopped, just for you spending $59.13 of my budget and spent it just in healthy foods.

Here is the list. ( not all is shown in the video below, my fualt , sorry)

Apple Cranberry Juice

2 1/2 gal Whole milk

2 blocks of cheese 🧀

1 16 slice american slice cheese 🧀

1 16 ozCottage cheese

2 cans of green beans

Can of mixed vegetables

Can of Black beans

Can of Kidney Beans

4 bags multi grain and whole grain bagels

1 head of Lettuce

1 bag Cole slaw

1 jar Cole slaw dressing

1 Cucumber

10 ears of corn on the cob 🌽

2 lb Grapes 🍇

3lb Apples 🍎

2.54 lb of Bananas 🍌

3lbs of cherries 🍒

2 lb ( 2) Big Beef Tomatoes 🍅

2 fresh baked Italian loaf bread 🍞

Natural polish sausage

2 6pack all natural drum sticks

2 pachages of cured diced ham

2 bags of frozen broccoli

 

So I am all about being 100% honest

when I said in the video I spent a little more because I have a family of 3..and shopped for 3-4 weeks… Here is what I meant.

I bought the quick junk food- 6 frozen 🍕Pizza , 2 banquet meals, 4 snack boxes ofpizza rolls, and waffles…for our days I know we will not be getting home + diapers, allergie pills, paper plates.

Making my total grocery bill

Why? Because… honestly …I do not feel like heating up my house to meal prep 😂

I’ll save that for the 20° below freezing temperatures , not the OMG it’s 82° 🔥 in the UP of Michigan days.

Anyways my tips are

1. Keep inventory of your kitchen

2. Make your grocery list according to the adds

3. Use coupons, savings cards, and apps that will help ger your money back.

4. Keep a well stocked pantry with staples

5. Pre cook meats and break them up into meals, cutting and sectioning them

6. Remember less is more, but fill your plate with mostly vegetables.

Know your portion sizes for meats, produce, and dairy.

Hard Work & Family Time

When you mix our kind of work with a little time for your friends and family time you are bound for a little adventure.

These past two weeks have been absolutely packed full and busy. So I am going to just give you the highlights of the Memorial day weekend and week. 🙂

Saturday we got up early, it’s the time of the year we have to start the process of cutting, splitting, hauling, and stacking, wood.

We headed out to the family camp to do exactly that.

With my daughter in one arm I threw wood in the bed if the truck while my husband split it.

It wasn’t to much longer when my father inlaw and our great uncle showed up. They took over for me.

So Casidy and I went on our own adventure.

When it was all said and done, we headed in.

That night we had our friends over for a little cook out. It was a good time as always up until they decided to get funny.

My sister in law and I was in the kitchen talking to the other ladies when her husband calls us.

“Sara, shanna, come look at this! ” he calls.

Well, assuming one of our husbands wad probably doing something hilariously stupid we walked towards my back screen door.

The guys had a Pine snake 🐍 caught in a tub.

I grabbed my daughter and ran back through the house with my sister inlaw behind me. Both of us screaming.

She yells, ” Get in the car! Get in my car! ” no questions asked I got into the passengers side of the car.

With our driveway being so muddy from the rain Sara slides on her ass falling.

She gets in, turns the car on.

Here those pains in our butts come with the snake, Sara puts the car in reverse and there we were ready to go.

I yell out the window “kill it! ”

One yells back “No, we can’t. ”

I yell back “I don’t give a shit kill the damn thing”

Getting the hint the guys finally got into my friends car and took the snake off down the road.

I’m still pissed they didn’t kill it, watch it come right back.

See, when you grow up down south with poisonous snakes like this copperhead that bit my friends son over the weekend-who is thank God alright🐍, you do not make friends. I hate them.

Sunday came along, we ended up fixing a belt on our car and that evening I finally got my garden in.

Monday I spent my time with my family. My parents, nephews, grandfather,and friends came for another cook out.

It was nice, we ate good food like my friends yummy chickpea salad recipe, which I will ask her if I can share with y’all.

Tuesday, I did mor gardening. and something pretty awesome happened

This women right here, ran.

It was freaking hot in the house, so I decided after my workout and a little gardening I was going to put casidy in the stroller and walk to my mother in laws for dinnner.

The walk turned into me running 1/4 of a mile.
Guys, this is huge for me! Why? I havent ran without having an “episode” from my superventricular tachiacaria in years. This is a condition that caused my heart will beat to fast. I usually A. Lose vision or B . Faint while feeling dizzy like and overwhelmingly hot.

It’s been 4 years and today I really think I can get back to 5 miles a day. I have to thank beachbody for teaching me how to eat properly/drink water consistently and all the motivation I have to exercise everyday from my team and being a coach. Not only has it helped that condition, but my RA so much.

Wednesday I went over to my mother-in -laws so she could show me how to cook with a preserve ruhbarb.

I got 3 freezerbags and a cake out of it along with an education of how to work with this northern plant.

It is perfect 👌 for summer eatin alone, but that cake, boy was it ever a comfort food fit for winter. And as you can see, it is to tasty to wait for a picture.

TASTY CHICKEN BAGUETTE

Start with warming your baguettes in the oven at 350°F for 10 minutes.

While those are warming chop up 1 cup of chicken breast.

Add 1 tbs of olive oil, your chopped chicken, a sprinkle of garlic, Basil, and tumuric.

Cook until well done.

Then wash and chop up Roman lettuce and tommatoe🍅

Cut your baguette, layer on the Chen while it’s still warm, then Mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and a drizzle of oil & vinager.

GRILLED CHICKEN STIRFRY

Super easy meal.

This is for a family of 3
2 cup Jasmine rice (you can use brown rice)
1 handful snap peas
2 diced carrots
1 dices yellow squash
1 chicken breast grilled in 1 tbs. Of olive oil and sprinkled with turmeric

Sauce
Honey & worcestershire sauce, pinch of salt mix until the consistency is thick.

I start with the chicken, grill it and set it aside on a plate. Using the same pan cook my rice as directed, then add in the vegtables. Cook the veggies until they become slightly tender and finish with the sauce.

JUST LIFE,A HAPPY LIFE

The last few days have been crazy, warm weather is here to stay I believe
My sister came to stay with us last Friday. She came over this way for her son’s tonsillectomy. It was so nice to have her around. Her, my little sister, and I had not been together in 10 years. It was nice to be around the two of them again.
The weekend came in with my sister at my side. My husband and I of course drug her down the back road riding and looking for a Turkey. We didn’t see anything, just the female that has been hanging around the highway for some time now.
It really sucks living in an area that doesn’t really have the best Turkey population….

Well Monday rolled around and I had to say my goodbyes to my sister. She left and had my interview with Tinkergarden , this company I found has a goal of getting children outside again, well that went excellent. I am not in the last phase of the interviewing process, I really hope it all works out.

Tuesday Casidy – my little girl- and I went over to my Mother – in-laws house. We started our visit woth finger paint and build bird houses with my niece. Neither one of them had much experience with finger paint, so it was a sight to see.

W

hile the paint was drying on the piece of bird house the girls decided they wanted Grammy to catch chickens to pet. They had a ball.

When we headed home I had to kick myself in the butt. We launched a cool new program called 2B Mindset. I had to get it out and let people know about it. I am SO excited about this program and it is really important to me to let all I encounter know about it. It is a weight loss program that includes NO exercise. This means I can help MORE people. So I went LIVE on facebook and explained.

Wednesday was a run to town day. I had to get a package out to Fedex, and I had to get wipes. The day kind of turned into a girls day with my little. She was spoiled. I got her dump truck, McDonald’s for lunch, and she had a wolf in her happy meal.

I also found myself a really cool clock that was on sale.

Thursday I chilled at home and focused on getting some laundry done. Later that evening I helped out at our local schools Track event. They had me judging the pole jumps, and though that wasn’t my event in track, it made me miss my teenage years badly. I am at the weird age where teens think I am old and other adults older than me still talk down to me or brush things off like I am a teen. I watched a teen go by walking all cool because they had keys, not I wish I could feel that again. I suppose we all go through this phase in our lives though.

It’s Friday now, and my weekend plans had to be cancelled so I have no idea what this weekend will bring, maybe a little hunting or a trip out to deer camp? gathering wood? We shall see…
