Opening Day of Turkey Season 2018

Well, we couldn’t find a babysitter, so we loaded up the truck with little miss in her car seat.

First back road we took road riding…the loggers ruined anything being back there. So we ventured down another road, stopped the truck and called a little.

Nope, nothing.

My husband said, lets go and see if my brother has something in his back yard.

I said alright!

So two hours later we found ourselves at my brother in-laws.

My husband helped tinker with their side-by-side while I sat and chatted with my brother in-law’s Fiance.

“gobble, gobble.” I heard them

I went into the truck and got the caller.

I called…

“gobble,gobble.”

Bart, the dog’s ears popped up, so I knew I wasn’t hearing things.

Called again.

Nothing.

Well, they must have went towards the neighbors. We all thought.

I chatted some more, we looked at a boat they wanted to sell us and their new flooring.

I’ll admit to peeking out the window here and there.

No Turkeys.

After our little visit we headed back homebound, stopped picked the baby up her milk, and then supper.

My husband says, lets check by the potatoe fields.

We had to drop a treat off for his mom anyway, so I said alright! – not that I would dispute it.

We stopped by my mother in-law’s and changed a diaper, the neighbor ,who has a farm down the road from us, happened to be there.

He tells us he saw black smoke coming from in behind our house.

Uh-oh. Jumped in the truck and headed home….to find the other neighbors were just burning their grass

No Turkey for me.

Hopefully before the season is over I can go sit somewhere. But for now, well..parenthood.
